I assumed this mistake created the "corrupted" character problem, although I had made the same mistake in the past without similar results. This results in problems I need not elaborate, beyond saying characters should not be loaded in game while using ATMA. Last time this happened, I had accidentally opened ATMA while the game was running. I thought I handled an isolated incident by replacing a d2s file with an older org file, but then it happened again this morning: ATMA reported my character was again corrupted and could not be loaded. ATMA began reporting my saved games as corrupt, leading me to lose many hours of progress and some cool loot*.
I've been having a heck of a time for the past 24 hours.
